Within the past 16 months, the following people have been promoted from associate director to director: Gary Carter, Tom Howa, Abraham Kololli, Jason Moeller, Kim Tanner, and Cassandra Van Buren. Please join the UIT Leadership Team in congratulating them.

UIT is pleased to announce that Jeff Shuckra has been promoted to associate director for the UIT Strategic Planning and Process Team, reporting to Deputy Chief Information Officer Ken Pink.

Brandon Zimmerman has been promoted to associate director for UIT & UETN Accounting & Finance, effective April 16, 2022. He previously served for three years as accounting and finance manager for the team.

Syndi Haywood, associate director for UIT Voice Services and Business Administration, recently received the 2022 James McCune Smith Award of Veneration from the U’s Black Cultural Center and Black Faculty and Staff Association for being an awe-inspiring example of dignity, wisdom, dedication, and excellence.

UIT’s Robert Lake likes to center his Zoom meeting backgrounds around a theme. He shows up in costume, often with background music, props, and even in makeup — much to the delight of his colleagues.

Angelica Chacon, administrative assistant for Communications Infrastructure, is always on the go — whether she's spending time with her family, breeding dogs, or pursuing her passions in floral design, thrift shopping, interior design, and home renovation.

As this year draws to a close, we take a moment to reflect on some of UIT's most notable achievements, events, and employee features and news.

UIT's Rachael Sheedy was desperate to get out the house, so she mapped out a gradual return to running. Her efforts culminated in the completion of her first half-marathon held in Beaver, Utah, on August 14.

Stucker will resume his responsibilities as associate director of ISO's Identity & Access Management team on Wednesday, September 1, 2021.
